Itinerary for World Autism Awareness Weekend April 1-3, at Wrightsville Beach
WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC . . . As many as 60,000 families in NC are impacted by children with some form of autism. These families are invited to Wrightsville Beach, April 1-3, to participate in World Autism Awareness Weekend. Events are free of charge.
Surfers Healing North Carolina Camp Director, John Pike promises lots of fun for the families of children with autism. Pike released the following weekend itinerary:
Friday, April 1
Where: *Host hotel: Blockade Runner Beach Resort
Arrive on Friday, and prepare for a full weekend of activity.
Meet new and old friends
Meet representatives of Surfers Healing and pick up literature
Enjoy music for the children
Walk on the beach
Walk on the pier
Dinner available on-site / Gluten Free options (there will be a charge for dinner, based on menu)

Saturday, April 2

Autism Society of North Carolina, New Hanover, Onslow, Pender and Brunswick counties, Askate.org, Family Support Network, NC Chapter of Surfers Healing, Ocean Cure, S.H.A.R.E., Surfrider Foundation, TEACCH, Open Doors Foundation, Wilmington Children’s Developmental Services Agency and Exceptional Children’s Assistance Center. Bi-lingual information will be provided.
